Each year Lower and Middle School art teachers select student artwork to enter into the Michigan Art Education Association (MAEA) Young@ART contest. In the 2020-2021 school-year the show was entirely virtual, but impressive nonetheless. Entries were submitted by teachers and included artwork created by K-12 students in the Oakland County region. There was limited participation in this exhibit, so having artwork selected was an honor. Schools were notified of the results in late June.
From the numerous pieces submitted, 100 pieces were selected to move on to be juried at the state show (Top 100). From there, jurors selected the Top 18 pieces of artwork which were highlighted in a virtual show posted on the MAEA website in July of 2021. In addition, these pieces will be showcased at the 2021 MAEA state conference in mid-September.
Congratulations to all of our artists!
