UPPER SCHOOL

The Detroit Country Day Upper School places a high priority on the love of learning, the use of talents and skills for the greater good, and challenging and comprehensive instruction in the basic liberal arts disciplines through diversity of teaching styles for students of similar abilities.

Students in Detroit Country Day Upper School experience the best any Michigan private high school can offer through a mix of challenging academic schedules, sports, social activities, and community service. They know that their success, like other things important in life, comes from self-motivation and perseverance. They achieve a solid academic grounding through a superior liberal arts curriculum with numerous electives that enable them to explore individual interests.

The Upper School prepares students for entrance into selective colleges and universities. Upon earning a place in the Upper School, students also earn a promise from that day forward; a promise of opportunities to become part of something special for the rest of their lives. It's a promise that they will be challenged, and their horizons  widened by memorable faculty and unique experiences.
