Middle school is considered one of the most critical times in human development, as students experience a variety of physical, emotional and academic changes and challenges. Every child has his or her own developmental timetable, and the Detroit Country Day Middle School program endeavors to meet the needs of this ever changing and maturing population. As a leading Michigan private middle school, Detroit Country Day Middle School strives to provide every student with an environment that promotes strong values, provides emotional and academic support, and encourages a genuine passion for learning.
In sixth through eighth grades, students move from a self-contained classroom setting toward more departmentalized learning centers that enable them to work cooperatively on subject-matter projects, as well as community and more global issues. In addition to the academic curriculum, the community-service activities, athletic teams and after-school programs offer additional guidance and opportunities for both academic and personal growth. Detroit Country Day Middle School offers many special learning experiences that have been designed for our students as they journey through early adolescence.
