The nurturing that began at Detroit Country Day Lower School continues as we tailor it to each student's maturity level. In the Junior School, your child will be guided on that path by caring and knowledgeable teachers who will keep students excited about learning, teach them it's "okay" to be smart or to ask questions if they are unsure, while establishing good study habits and promoting individual responsibility that can only be found in top Michigan private elementary schools. At every level, special units are taught which may combine the arts, science, social studies and French. Extra-curricular programs enhance the educational experience as children participate in performance groups, after-school enrichment or school-sponsored family activities.

Children will gain confidence, develop personal responsibility and increasing independence. They will discover within themselves a more capable and inquisitive young person than they ever imagined, leading them on their journey to the Middle School.
