Senior is Runner-Up for the American Foreign Services Association Essay Contest

Collin Wang '19 was recently named the runner-up for the American Foreign Services Association: National High School Essay Contest, Why Does Diplomacy and Peacebuilding Matter. Collin’s paper, Examining Peacebuilding in Bosnia and the Failures of the Iraq War, was evocatively written and deeply researched. The writing assignment asked students to examine the United States’ foreign policy and national security interests in countries affected by or vulnerable to violent conflict. Collin will receive a check for $1,250 and a full scholarship to attend the International Diplomacy Program of the National Student Leadership Conference this summer hosted at Georgetown University.
