Learn Something New
Are your family and friends sending you pictures of things they just made or learned how to do? Have you taken any time to learn a new skill or become more knowledgeable about a topic of interest. If not, why not take the time to learn something new. There are a slew of free websites, online videos, and blogs that are offering "how-tos" and "DIYs" at no-cost. You can learn anything from a new language to Tai Chi to photography. YouTube is also a great resource to find people teaching a variety of skills. Try picking up a new skill today and share away with family and friends!

Also, Common Sense Media is hosting a discussion with Lisa Damour, New York Times columnist and author and Dr. Cara Natterson, pediatrician and author to speak with parents on how they can support both emotional and medical needs of kids as we shelter in place. The Buzz Blogs News 🗞 Resources for Parents and Students Moments on Zoom Ms. Pietrzak's reading group came up with some very creative book report presentations on Zoom. Three groups did novel studies on: Ivy and Bean and the Ghost that had to Go by Annie Barrows, Magic Tree House: Revolutionary War on Wednesday by Mary Pope Osborne, and Dragon Master: Saving the Sun Dragon by Tracey West. The children came up with some great ideas for dioramas, unique book report formats and video interviews. Their book report could take any style but they had to include: an introduction, summary (characters, settings, main events), favorite part, and rating/recommendation. Humor Boost |
