Alumni Community,
We have received wonderful stories about your letter sweaters and what they meant to you as a Country Day student and even today. As we head into the Thanksgiving season, please consider a donation to the school and sharing your letter sweater story through our campaign.
I had multiple athletic stripes sewn into the arm of my sweater, probably six different colors in all. Each represented a different level of individual or team achievement in wrestling….Wearing the sweater gave me a feeling of continuity with my predecessors, those who were above me in class years. It made me feel a bit like the youthful private Henry Fleming in Stephen Crane's "The Red Badge of Courage" (which we read in Ms. Hannett's class), filling a position of responsibility and occupying the position of other meritorious souls. – Stephen Modell ('76)
From the patches, stripes, or varsity letter, your sweater is your Country Day story and, thus, shaped you into who you are today. Learn about our campaign, narrated by Ms. Beverly Hannett-Price, and tell us a bit about your DCDS story by clicking the sweater below.
Of our total donors to DCDS, our alumni and alumni families represent 29% of total donors. Can we double that this year? Please support by participating!
With gratitude,
Annie Gordon Thomas ('06) Alumni Relations Manager DETROIT COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL |
