Our Vision is VIVID

Image

Tina Mangalick '06, Director of Major Gifts at DCDS, has been hard at work giving tours of our brand new Middle School. The expansion has been made possible by VIVID, the Campaign for an Extraordinary Detroit Country Day School - a special fundraising effort to transform DCDS's educational experience for current and future generations.

The campaign reimagines our teaching spaces and brings a powerful new energy to the way we engage our students from pre-school through graduation in a way that is cohesive, engaging, and vibrant. Every detail of our new facilities will create the finest, most forward-thinking experience for our students while building on over 100 years of tradition.

All alumni are invited to take a tour of the new building during Homecoming on October 6. If you would like to take a tour of the new Middle School, but are unable to make it during Homecoming, please contact Tina at tmangalick@dcds.edu. For more information on VIVID, please visit www.dcds.edu/vivid.

Sarah's five year old yoga company, Y7 Studio, which has locations in New York City and Los Angeles ranked number 80 on the 2018 Inc. 5000. Y7 Studio was created because Sarah was disappointed with the yoga classes she was finding in NYC. Read Sarah's story .

Alumna Launches Detroit Music Festival

Leah Hill '13 is the founder of Kindred Media and Entertainment. She also created the Kindred Music and Culture Festival which was recently held in Detroit at Roosevelt Park on August 18, 2018. In addition to the music and festivities, Leah wanted to make a difference in the lives of children in the community. During the festival she held an art supply drive for Mackenzie Elementary and Middle School on Detroit's west side. She recognized that she had access to many art resources during her time at DCDS and wanted to provide the same types of resources to Detroit community schools.
