Art After Hours
Open to the public, the annual Art After Hours event provides an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of the Friends of the Arts Association (FOA). The adult-only event provides an engaging and social atmosphere that highlights the collaborative relationship DCDS has with the local arts community.
Although FOA's primary support is through membership, this event provides significant funds to help fulfill the mission of the association. Funds raised, along with membership dues and other donations, are used to support and promote the arts curriculum and programs.
A group of DCDS art enthusiasts had an enjoyable evening at the Reyes Projects in Birmingham on Thursday, October 18th. Attendees of the event enjoyed cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and the two-person exhibition, KUDDELMUDDEL, which featured artwork of Michelle Segre and Scott Reeder. Both artist embrace a style of art making the "seams together the audacious, and unnatural while examining today's unavoidable material culture."
This yearly public event sponsored by Friends of the Arts provides an opportunity to celebrate art in an atmosphere that highlights the collaborative relationship DCDS has with the local arts community. This event along with membership dues and other generous donations are used to support and promote the arts curriculum and programs at DCDS.
