Applying for Financial Aid

FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for Detroit Country Day School for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. In order to be considered for a preliminary early award decision, families must have an application and 2018 1040 Federal Tax Returns along with all supporting business schedules, attachments and 2019 W-2s submitted to FACTS by March 15, 2020 to allow for their two-week processing time. Detroit Country Day School will send preliminary award notifications to qualified families beginning March 1st. All applications completed after March 15, will be reviewed on a rolling basis, if funds are available.
Families should apply online here. Please note: Students at all levels may apply for financial assistance, although aid will be granted in descending order with our Middle and Upper School students receiving priority consideration. Lower School applicants will be considered next. Once an online application has been completed, the following information will need to be sent to FACTS to complete the application process:
  • Copies of your 2018 1040 Federal tax forms, including all supporting tax schedules, attachments, and 2019 W-2s.
  • Copies of supporting documentation for Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps and Workers’ Compensation (not all families will have such items).
All supporting documentation can be uploaded in pdf format online. Documentation can also be faxed to (866) 315-9264 or mailed to the address below. Please be sure to include the applicant ID on all faxed or mailed correspondence.

The Guided Tuition Program allows all families to apply for reduced tuition, as opposed to applying for a “grant” or an “award”. The Guided Tuition level for each student is governed by our charge, the needs of our families and the budget of the school. While all families may apply, priority is given to students entering the Upper and Middle Schools before considering students entering the Lower School. The Guided Tuition Committee operates separately from the admission process and does not impact your child’s admission to the school. Current students applying for Guided Tuition must be in good standing with the school.
