Dedication Opportunities

Donors who contribute to capital projects or who make a major gift to the school may receive special recognition through a program of dedicating specific rooms and locations in the school's buildings.

Donors who contribute a minimum amount to the school's endowment are able to establish a named fund. A formal agreement, outlining the guidelines for the particular fund, is drawn up and signed by the school and the benefactor(s). Once the fund is established, the benefactors receive an annual reporting of the income and uses of the funds. In the case of an endowed scholarship, the donors are encouraged to meet with the recipient.

Endowment and Capital Campaign Policies

Established: 1997

1. Any and all facilities and endowments of nature and use appropriate for memorial, living tribute or other named gift purposes, will be available for such designation. A list of available named gift opportunities will be published in the formal campaign printed materials. Other naming opportunities may be available and discussed in private consultation with a donor.

2. The value given to a facility unit is based on desirability relative to the other such naming opportunities, rather than on the actual cost of construction. The value given an endowment unit is based on the potential income generated.

3. The gifts of more than one donor may be combined to meet the value of a unit or endowment. Also, the interest of a business, corporation, foundation or other organization may be recognized.

4. The cash received in the form of a gift for the purpose of establishing a named endowment fund will be restricted for the stated purpose and will be invested with the school's endowment funds.

5. The cash received in the form of a gift designated for the building program will be designated, not for a specific room, but for the overall building project. The dollar value of the stated gift opportunity relates only to a level of recognition the donor will receive and not to a particular designation (other than for the building) of the funds.

6. The naming of an endowment fund shall take place upon receipt of full payment on a pledge. The names of such funds shall regularly be listed in the school's printed materials.

7. If any changes in actual construction take place after named gifts are reserved by donors, each donor will be given the opportunity to reconsider their selection.

8. The type and design for the elements of the recognition program in the new facilities will be uniform. Donors will be consulted regarding the wording for their particular plaque.
