Junior School Admissions

The process of admission to Detroit Country Day Junior School includes a scheduled interview where families and candidates have the opportunity to learn about the experience, tour the Junior School campus and discuss the school environment, curriculum and admission testing. The Director of Admissions also performs an informal assessment of all candidates in the areas of reading and math at the time of the interview. The Stanford Achievement Test, which further evaluates the areas of reading and math, is administered at designated times throughout the year or can be scheduled on a pre-arranged basis. There is a non-refundable application fee of $50.00.

The application process is finalized upon a candidate being interviewed, completing the admissions testing, and returning all required forms to the Office of Admissions. Decisions are made based on the information in the candidate's portfolio once it is complete. There is a non-refundable application fee of $50.00.
