Lower School Admissions

The process of admission gives families and candidates the opportunity to discover the reasons why a private elementary school education at Detroit Country Day Lower School can make a significant difference in the life of a child. The admission process formally begins with an interview. This interview allows the candidate and his/her family the opportunity to discuss the school environment, curriculum and activities, and affords the time to share their child's attributes and ask questions.

The application process is finalized upon a candidate being interviewed and returning all completed forms to the Office of Admissions and Testing. Decisions are made based on the information in the candidate's portfolio. Admission decisions for Detroit Country Day School are made when a candidate's portfolio is complete. There is a non-refundable application fee of $50.00.

To initiate the admissions process, please contact the Lower School Admissions Office at (248) 430-2740 or complete an online inquiry form.
