Guided Tuition Program
In keeping with the fundamental elements of the One Country Day experience, we are reforming the manner in which we assist current and new families in affording a Detroit Country Day School education for their children. We have replaced the traditional financial aid program with the Guided Tuition Program. This tuition program is guided by our mission, the needs of our families, and the budget of the school.
With the Guided Tuition Program, families with children in grades PK3 through Grade 12 are able to apply and potentially qualify for a reduced tuition by taking into consideration what the family is able to afford. The family's ability to pay is based on an annual comprehensive calculation performed by Private School Aid Services (PSAS) and the school. The school considers the family's ability to pay in combination with the available funds of the school to support the Guided Tuition Program in determining the guided tuition amount for a child.
The school's budget is limited and, therefore, we are unable to offer guided tuition to every student who qualifies and is admitted to DCDS. Consequently, a timely request for guided tuition is critical. Please submit your PSAS form and your completed 2009 IRS return to PSAS by March 5, 2010. Decisions will be mailed in late April.
